In 2016, Swaziland government’s revenue was estimated to be SZL 13.812 billions whereas the expenditure was estimated to be SZL 20.828 billions. This resulted Swaziland government’s net lending / borrowing negative at SZL 7.016 billion in 2016 indicating that enough financial resources were not made available by the government to boost economic growth.

The current account balance for Swaziland was estimated to be negative at USD 0.195 billions for the year 2016 and is expected to decline at a CAGR of 175.96% and reach USD 0.062 by 2022. This negative current account balance indicates the Swaziland is a net borrower from the whole world.
