As
per International Monetary Fund (IMF) Uganda’s nominal gross domestic product
is expected to grow at a CAGR of 11.9% from it’s 2015 level of UGX 81375.98
billion and reach UGX 178823.58 billion by 2022.
Uganda,
officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. It
is bordered on the east by Kenya, on the north by South Sudan, on the west by
the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the southwest by Rwanda, and on the
south by Tanzania. Uganda is the second most populous landlocked country. The
southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria,
shared with Kenya and Tanzania, situating the country in the African Great

generally equatorial climate.

had estimated population of 41.087 million in the year 2016 and expected to

Ugandas
real gross domestic product (GDP) was around UGX 56751.83 billions in 2016
whereas the nominal GDP was UGX 89590.80 billions. This resulted in GDP
deflator 157.864. Per capita GDP was estimated at USD 637.568 whereas purchasing
power parity (PPP) based per capita GDP was estimated to be at USD 2068.23.
In
2016, Uganda governments revenue was UGX 12921.54 billions whereas the
expenditure was UGX 16148.83 billions. This resulted Uganda governments net
lending / borrowing negative at UGX 3227.29 billion in 2016 indicating that
enough financial resources were not made available by the government to boost
economic growth.
The
current account balance for Uganda was estimated to be negative at USD 1.544
billions for the year 2016 and is expected to decline at a CAGR of 9.67% and
reach USD 3.184 by 2022. This negative current account balance indicates the
Uganda is a net borrower to the whole world.
